Resolving Export and Share Issues

Guides you through fixing problems such as empty or truncated PDFs, download blocks, inaccessible share links, and email permission issues.

Export and share issues are divided into rendering problems of the result file and access permission problems. First distinguish whether the PDF itself is corrupted, the link does not open, or the link opens but you cannot perform the required actions.

PDF download does not start

  • Check the browser address bar for a download or popup blocker notice.
  • Click once and wait until rendering finishes.
  • Verify that images and styles have finished loading.
  • Set the browser zoom level to 100%.
  • Temporarily disable ad‑blocker or style‑changing extensions and check again.
  • Open the same project in a different browser to test.
  • Check the storage space and file permissions of the download folder.

PDF is blank or some slides are truncated

  1. 1

    Record the problematic slides

Check the page numbers, the blocks that are cut off, and the positions of empty images.

  2. 2

Verify the same section in the Rhetis canvas

If the web view also shows truncation, edit the content in the skeleton or final deck.

  3. 3

    Load all assets

Wait briefly after images and fonts are visible, then export again.

  4. 4

    Simplify complex sections

Split long tables and lists into two slides and remove off‑screen elements.

  5. 5

Save with a new file name

Change the version to avoid confusion with previous downloads.

  • Ensure the URL is not truncated mid‑way.
  • If external sharing is off, log in with the invited email.
  • Verify that the invited address matches the logged‑in account.
  • Check that the link‑sharing permission is set higher than view.
  • Confirm that the owner has not deleted the project or turned off link sharing.
  • Verify that the company security system is not blocking the Rhetis domain or redirects.

  • Check the current user’s permission in the share modal.
  • View‑only users cannot comment or edit.
  • Comment‑capable users cannot directly modify project content.
  • Having edit permission does not grant the ability to change workspace settings.
  • After changing permissions, refresh the page or log in again.
  • Verify that there are no duplicate invitations sent to another email.

Invitation email not received

  • Check for typos in the address and the company domain.
  • Look in spam, promotions, and security quarantine folders.
  • Confirm membership status in the share modal.
  • If a send‑failure notice appears, resend the invitation after a short wait.
  • For urgent reviews, use a link with limited permissions but first confirm the external‑sharing policy.
  • Verify the browser’s clipboard permission.
  • Retry in an HTTPS environment.
  • Check that a “copied” indicator appears.
  • Before copying the project URL from the address bar, ensure the link‑sharing settings have been saved.
  • Make sure the messenger does not strip trailing characters from the URL.

Comments are not visible

  • Determine whether the comment is a skeleton comment or a final‑deck comment.
  • Check if the comment is linked to another slide.
  • Verify the status of open and resolved comments.
  • Ensure you have permission higher than comment‑capable.
  • Reload the latest project state.

Information to include in support requests

  • Project name and workspace
  • PDF page or slide number
  • Sharing method: link or email
  • Expected permission versus actual visible permission
  • Browser and operating system
  • Time of occurrence
  • Screenshots with sensitive information masked
  • Instead of the full link, provide the tail end of the link or project identifier safely

Do not enable external sharing or edit permissions just to solve access problems. Identify the cause first and grant only the minimum necessary permissions.
