Supported Files and Upload Preparation
Explains the supported formats by input location in Rhetis, file size limits, and what to check before uploading.
Rhetis has multiple places where you can add files, and the purpose and processing method differ depending on where you upload them. Just because you can select a file does not mean it will be indexed or used in the same way across all locations.
Purpose by Input Location
Where do we put the files?
Home Composer and Project Conversation
Attach documents, existing presentation materials, tables, images, or notes that need to be read along with the current project request.
Knowledge
Index PDFs, PPTs, Word, text, and Markdown documents that are repeatedly referenced across multiple projects as workspace resources.
Style
Add images that show visual direction, such as logos, brand book captures, website screenshots, and mood images.
Onboarding
Upload reference documents and brand materials when creating the first workspace. You can add more later.
Document Formats Available in Knowledge
On the Knowledge upload screen, the following extensions can be selected.
- PDF:
.pdf - PowerPoint:
.ppt,.pptx - Word:
.doc,.docx - Plain Text:
.txt - Markdown:
.md
A text‑reading path may be used for images, but the file picker in the Knowledge screen prioritizes document formats. If you want to use an image itself as presentation context or style reference, use the Project attachment or Style screen.
Project Attachments
The project input area can receive both documents and images, and work files such as spreadsheets can also be added to the attachment list. Verify actual processing capability based on the selectable formats on the current screen and the upload result.
- Audio and video files are not supported.
- Password‑protected PDFs or corrupted Office files may not be readable.
- It is more reliable to attach the original file directly than to send only an external link.
- Multiple files that organize the needed parts can be faster and more accurate than a single large file.
Style Reference Images
When creating a style, the following image formats can be used.
- PNG
- JPEG or JPG
- WebP
- GIF
Up to 10 reference images can be used per style creation. Moving GIFs may be interpreted around a still frame, so it is recommended to prepare a PNG of the key scene separately.
File Size
The default upload limit for Knowledge is currently set to about 25 MB. The value may change in production environments, so if the upload screen or error message shows a different limit, use that value first.
Organizing Before Upload
- 1
Remove Unnecessary Pages
Exclude appendices, duplicate pages, and old versions that are unrelated to the presentation whenever possible.
- 2
Rename Files for Clarity
Use names that reveal content and timing, such as
2026_Q2_business_review.pdf, rather than obscure names likefinal_v7_reallyfinal.pdf. - 3
Show Latest Date and Source
For documents with figures, display the reference date, units, and original source.
- 4
Check Scan Quality
Blurry scans, tilted pages, and small text reduce recognition quality. Use the original PDF with text whenever possible.
- 5
Verify Confidential Information
Remove personal data such as social security numbers, payment information, personal contacts, and unnecessary customer data before uploading.
Even if a file appears in the list, processing is not finished. In Knowledge, wait until the status becomes Completed before searching or using it to create a deck.
