Sharing and Permissions

Guides how to share a project via link or email and manage view, comment, edit permissions and external sharing settings.

The Rhetis project can be shared via link or email invitation. When sharing, you separately set who can access and what actions are allowed.

Project Permissions

Sharing Permissions

View Only

You can view the project contents but cannot comment or edit.

Comment

You can view the project and provide feedback via canvas comments and replies.

Edit

You can modify the project content and creation flow. Grant this only to trusted collaborators.

Project sharing permissions differ from workspace roles. Workspace owner, admin, and editor roles set member scope and settings, while project view, comment, and edit permissions define access to specific decks.

  1. 1

    Open the project’s share menu

Select Share from the top share button or the project menu.

  2. 2

Select the minimum required permission among view, comment, or edit.

  3. 3

Decide whether to allow external sharing

If external sharing is enabled, users with the link can access it with the set permission. If disabled, only invited users can open it.

  4. 4

Click copy link and then deliver it through a secure channel.

  5. 5

    Verify in a private window

If it’s for external sharing, confirm that it opens with the expected permission in an incognito window or a test account.

Invite via Email

  • Enter a name or email address in the input field.
  • Separate multiple addresses with commas, Enter, or line breaks.
  • Select the permission to invite.
  • Double‑check the email address before inviting.
  • Check the invitation result for failures or existing members.
  • Permissions can be changed later in the share modal.

Secure Permission Settings

  • External reviewers typically use view or comment permissions.
  • Grant edit permission only to team members who need to modify the project.
  • Links with external sharing enabled are hard to control once shared.
  • For client or internal financial data, prefer individual email invitations over link sharing.
  • After review, disable external sharing or lower permissions.
  • Verify permissions for former employees and contract‑ended users in both the workspace and the project.

  • Verify that the entire link was copied.
  • If external sharing is off, you must log in with the invited email.
  • Ensure the invitation email and login email are the same.
  • Check whether the owner changed sharing permissions or deleted the project.
  • Verify that the company security browser isn’t blocking cookies or redirects.
  • Report the permission‑error screen and the time it occurred to the owner.

Copying the link alone does not grant external access. Always check the external sharing toggle and link permission together.
